We at Southern Mountain Horse Co. offer a limited number of baby camels for sale throughout the year. These baby camels are allowed to nurse with their mother for approximately 48 hours. We then raise them each on the bottle, which assures that they are gentle, and handable, for anyone to own.
The normal color for camels is a light brown color. However, through selective breeding we have established a color gene in our camels that produces offspring which are white, and black. Thes e two colors are extremely rare and are in great demand.

Camels are very easy to raise and maintain. The type of fencing which contains our adults is 8 feet tall, woven wire. We give our breeding herd in the pasture a good quality grass hay, a horse feed (with very little molasses), and fresh water daily. They are very easy keepers.

Vaccinations are comparable to that of cattle. We use two types of wormers; Safe Guard, and Ivomec, which we give quarterly. Your local feed store or vet will carry these products.
