We are located in the beautiful hills of Southern Ohio, about 1-1/2 hours south of Columbus, Ohio. Here we raise and train Gypsy Cob Cross Ponies for pleasure, competition and just loving pets. We at Southern Mountain Horse Company strive to raise only the best; starting from a herd of 12 extremely critiqued mares we have evolved to be one of the worlds premiere breeders with currently over 100 ponies. Blending of the Gypsy Cob Pony for their movement,gentleness and beautiful color, Haflinger for their soundness of bone and the Shetland for their hardiness and willing to please. 2002 will see the addition of the breathtaking Friesian Horse and we will only have a limited number of foals each year for sale. This blending has achieved a Beautiful pony with the specific characteristics we planned them to have; Gentleness, Athletic ability, hardiness, soundness while possessing stamina and determination. The natural mountainous terrain of our facilities pastures provides excellent training ground for our young foals while growing up with their mothers in the fields. This environment serves to strengthen their natural athletic ability while enhancing their performance in the field of your choice. Ie trail riding, jumping, eventing, or just pleasure. With over 25 years of showing, training, and breeding champion ponies Robert Wagner (owner) individually trains each and everyone of our foals. Not only has Robert produced many champions but in addition has provided worldwide clients with the perfect family companion for a lifetime of friendship and memories. Each pony comes with an Application for Registry in the Gypsy Cob Society of America, they are broke to lead, clip, load, bathe, farrier trimmed, and lots of LOVE!!
